Do you mean Nettleham, just North of Lincoln ?

If so there are quite a few choices.

Market Rasen Folk Club Concert style - Held at Faldingworth Village hall
Mainly every other Friday and Concerts on Saturdays

Lincoln Folk Club Nettleham Same Friday as Market Rasen Folk Club. They are a singaround folk club

Lincoln Folk festival Club Held on a Sunday Night - Concert style - held at the Turks head, Newport Lincoln

Slightly further afield
Gainsborough Folk Club Singaround - Every other Friday - opposite fridays to Market Rasen Folk Club & Lincoln Folk Club

LOUTH FOLK CLUB (singers & musicians nights + occasional guests ~ 2nd & 4th Tuesdays) - YE OLDE WHYTE SWANNE INN, LOUTH

I hope that is of help, if its the right Nettleham :-)

Correction to the above. Lincoln Folk Club (at the White Hart, Nettleham) - ISN'T a singaround club! They are a floorspot club, performers usually get two spots (one in each half), two songs or tunes per spot. Arrive by 8pm-ish to be sure of getting a spot.

Well Folktalk have them classed as a singaround, Strollin' and as they are on the same night as my club, then I wouldn't know. :-)

There is also The Drill Hall, Free schoollane, Lincoln, which I beleive has an open mike on Monday evenings in The Arnmoury Bar. I stand to be corrected there as well :-)

The Drill-Hall 'do' is called 'Drill-Hall Unplugged' which takes place once a month on the 3rd Monday. It's not a Folk night, it's all kinds of acoustic music - a lot of Boy-Band/James Blunt Wannabes get up there - but there is some Folk (not just me!). Performers get one ten-minute spot and they're STRICT about not over-running. There's just about time for two short-ish songs. Try to get a third song in and you will be rugby-tackled off the stage (even worse than Villan's shepherd's crook! LOL!). Get there no later than 7-30, otherwise all the spots will have gone.

Also an Open-Mic across the road at the Jolly Brewer, Broadgate, Lincoln, every Wednesday night. Starts around 8.30 - 9.00 pm, but be there early to book a 2-song spot. Again, not just Folk, lots of Wannabes, but there is a bit of Folk.

To Villan - well Im not too sure. to be strictly honest, I dont know the people. the query came via a mutual friend, and I was told they live in Nettleham near Newark, but I dont know the place!!!!
anyway, Ive passed the info on

did you know that there is a Barn Dance once a month the first Friday in the month at the Community Arts Centre 39b High Street Lincoln. This is run by Liam of Mini Morris and Pigeon English Band and is a small friendly dance venue £3.00 per person. we have been twice and had a fantastic night both times.

Yes I did, but unfortunately the club that I run (Market Rasen Folk Club) is on a Friday as well and normally I go to Gainsborough Folk Club the other Friday.
I also go to Grimsby Folk Club on a Sunday and Lincolnshire Folk festival club on the Sunday as well.
Can't get to any more or my wife will kill me.
However there is a great ceilidh night at Rothwell near Caistor once a month on a Tuesday Night, when many membetrs of different Ceilidh Bands come and play together, including Liam and Frank. Entrance £1 and if you want to, you can play in the band or call or dance or get pissed as a fart LOL Its called the Reely Grim Folk Dance Club. here is the link Reely Grim Folk Dance Club

that sounds really great but is too far for us from Retford. we do go to the AVID dances just north of us (Awaken Village Interest in Dance), and their music sessions on Wednesdays, and then of course there is our brand new baby the session in Retford itself, plus Anston Folk Club, Kiveton Park Folk Club and The Grey Horses at Carlton in Lindrick session - besides Morris practise on Mondays ---- so you can see we keep quite busy!!!

Of course there are also Walkeringham Folk Club....perhaps more acoustic than Folk but fortnightly on a Monday...in the Brickmakers Arms at 8pm...not far from you. That is on this coming Monday. Epworth Folk Club at the School Inn on the alternate Monday.
Best wishes, MIke.

If you fancied going to a music event in Retford, it's not a singaround more what you might call a floor spot club on the last Sunday of the month at the Clinton arms, I went in November to see Nick Hall, it's run by a few people who have connections with Otley Folk Festival, worth a look anyway.

Beckingham is also within easy striking distance of all of the above. It's on the road from Newark to Sleaford (more than 5 mles though!)
