People might be interested to listen to two radio programmes from RTE's archives about traditional singer Delia Murphy.

They'll only be online briefly, but today's (21/1/7) and last Sunday's programmes from John Bowman's archive programme Bowman Sunday Morning
feature Delia Murphy singing and various friends talking about her. You can download the programmes and listen to them, but they don't stay online for long.

The John Bowman programme on RTE 1 radio at 0830 this morning was the second of two programmes about Delia Murphy - it was about her war work in Rome.
If you don't know about this, and haven't read Aidan O'Hara's excellent biography 'I'll live till I die' don't miss it...
The first programme was about her singing career.

I'm not sure if these are repeats of those above, 14 years ago, but if you haven't heard of Delia Murphy, or even if you have, they're well worth a listen.

and a great singer she was, but a lot of admirers of her singing may not be aware of her undercover wartime work in Rome, when she was a very great help to Allied POWs - the programme covers this, as does the biogaphy of her life    'I'LL LIVE TILL I DIE'
