Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Devil and his old Suitcase From: Joe Offer Date: 09 Jun 22 - 03:50 PM Hi, Craig - where'd you get this from? Who's the songwriter? We try to document sources of lyrics as best we can. -Joe Offer, Mudcat Music Editor- |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Devil and his old Suitcase From: cnd Date: 09 Jun 22 - 04:04 PM The lyrics match this recording by the Dixie Echoes (click) almost perfectly. This Discogs release (click) attributes the song to Charles R. Matthews. For their part, the Dixie Echoes attribute it as "P.D." (link). One small note, it should be "toting" in the first line rather than "totting" |
