We are hosting a folk musicians retreat in Crisfield, Maryland on August 24, 25 and 26 2007 at Janes Island State Park.

Group and one-on-one workshops on five-string banjo, tenor banjo and guitar with Pat & Patrick Costello, jamming and great food on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay.

We will not separate people by playing level, instrument or style. We
encourage interaction because everyone has something to learn and
everyone has something to share.

Sounds like fun Patrick, but how are the bugs over there these days?
They used to be ferocious.

It's hard to say ahead of time because the bug situation changes from year to year depending on how much rain we get over the Summer.

That said, it hasn't been too bad lately because there has been a pretty active spraying campaign. Now that there are million-dollar condos being built along the downtown waterfront the state is trying like hell to get things under control.

Everybody coming to the event (and we have already have people coming from as far away as the West Coast - and a father and son is making the trip from Spain) is going to be staying at the conference center in the park, so we'll be inside at night when the bugs come out in force.
