Okay, i don't know where i got this CD, but would sure like to find out who made it. No names on it, but sez: Hammered Dulcimer, Irish Flute and Celtic Harp.
Track listing: 1. The Butterfly, 2. I Will bow and be Simple, 3. Morrisons Jig, 4. Jock O'Hazeldine, 5. Knockabower Polka, 6. Captain O'Kane, 7. Chanter, and 8. Merrily Kissed teh Quakers Wife.
I do find it ironic that there is only ONE Carolan tune in the mix But it is a really nice cd, would like to find out more about it. thanks, all!

I don't understand. Is it a copy of various tunes or an original CD?

I know it probably isn"t, but imagine what it would sound like IF it was Colman Connolly on the flute, Harriet Earis on the harp, and Walt Michael on the hammered dulcimer !!!

I bet it was made by a US group, hammered dulcimer is almost unknown in Ireland, also it's "Knocknaboul" polka (a place near Ballydesmond Co. Cork.), which Irish musicians would probably know. That doesn't narrow it down much, though!

Might it be "Magical Strings" who are Phil & Pam Boulding? They make lovely music on harp & hammered dulcimer, plus other instruments.

You might like to take a look at their website - http://www.magicalstrings.com/

"hammered dulcimer is almost unknown in Ireland"

That's odd, I went to a hammered dulcimer festival there nearly two years ago.......
