Once again Lizzie, your total self absorption is showing. The Shambles posted a link to this petition on here on the 13th of December 2006.
Do you EVER check to see if anything you post has been posted before?
Or are you so convinced of your own righteousness that you consider all posts other than your own pearls of wisdom are irrelevant?
You continually duplicate posting by others, many of whom actually know what they're talking about.
Read some of the old posts on the Mudcat you MIGHT learn something!

No MacKenzie, you couldn't be more wrong, as always.

I signed it the other day, after reading about it on the BBC board...and I passed it on to a few people too. However, this morning I received an email about it from Sally Tams, Sally has sent it on to all those on her email list.

As I've been back on Mudcat a fair bit lately, I just thought about putting it on here to see if it would help. If it's already been done, excellent.

However, as always, at least it's given you another opportunity to be unpleasant.

Might I suggest that it is time for you to lay aside you hatred of me. It does you no good to feel that way. Far better to have kindness in your soul, than bitterness, distrust and hatred.

Lizzie. I guess I fit into the category John is talking about too but like you I tend to do things with others in mind...NOT as John suggests as a result of self absorption. I don't tend to spend long on when I am here but it is regular, however I do miss posts and have been know...in good faith...to duplicate postings. Perhaps John spends too much time on here studying what's what and knows it back to front.....I tend to have more important things to do.
Sorry John but you were out of order with overbearing criticism. Lizzie did say it needs 'far more' signatures which implies a possible prior knowledge and has brought it back to peoples attention. I for one failed to sign it last time as I missed the thread and had no other knowledge of it. Will certainly visit the link now.

Bass whoever you are, you have clearly failed to notice vast numbers of threads passim stuck up by the totally self-absorbed madlizziecornish who imagines no-one else knows about anything till she brings it to the attention of the world.

We know. From many sources other than Mudcat.

The current petition on the PM's site against the restrictions of the 2003 Licensing Act which is due for revision after the end of the transition peeriod runs till June.

"I am on Sally's mailing list too" .You and me both Dave ... but sadly the info that Sally passed on (from somebody else)was already exceedingly out of date ... though not the link to the petition which I signed back in December after the details were posted on uk music folk by its originator. Since then I've received invitations to subscribe to it from myriad sources - usually also vastly out of date, quoting the petition as sitting at number 17 in the list. When I last looked it was somewhere around number 5 in the league table in terms of the number of votes already cast (having over run the petition for our local hospital, which I would like to see better supported as well!!!). Haven't looked recently to see where the league table and number of votes cast lies, but may do so later.

Does it really matter how many threads are started to bring attention to this petition?

Surely the important thing is that the petition is brought to the attention of folk who would be prepared to support it?

The act of starting this thread was far more positive than simply posting to criticise the originator.
