Subject: Good Site for Folk On-line From: JedMarum Date: 14 Mar 07 - 08:36 AM I have no connection with these folks, except they play my music ... but Mudcatters may enjoy this site for listening and may wish to distribute their music there. EZ Folk seems to be well organized, well run and successfully offering folk-style music to the world for free. |
Subject: RE: Good Site for Folk On-line From: GUEST,DriveForever Date: 14 Mar 07 - 09:07 AM Yes - it is a great site, and they are very generous with the amount of space provided each member. While some sites, eg. IAC Music only allow 2 - 3 song uploads gratis, you can load perhaps as many as 30-40 songs, depending on size. - Dave |

Subject: RE: Good Site for Folk On-line From: GUEST,Janice now in western NY State Date: 14 Mar 07 - 02:54 PM I took a look. There's lots of good stuff to be found once you get the hang of it. I'll take more time to explore when I can. Thank you. |

Subject: RE: Good Site for Folk On-line From: Geoff the Duck Date: 14 Mar 07 - 03:10 PM The site has changed a lot since i last visited there looking for banjo tab. I'm not sure what has altered, so will have to look properly when (if ever) I get time... It used to have some useful stuff. Quack! GtD. |
Subject: RE: Good Site for Folk On-line From: DriveForever Date: 14 Mar 07 - 03:21 PM www.folkalley.com looks like an interesting site, but they do not appear to host artists in the same way that EZ-Folk does (eg. sponsoring artist songs). They seem to provide some access for artists via something called 'open mic'. |
Subject: RE: Good Site for Folk On-line From: Richard Bridge Date: 14 Mar 07 - 04:37 PM Well, I had a rummage on EZ folk. Some of it is dreadful. A couple of creditable things. And is my memory playing tricks or did we not decide that "She moved through the fair" was contemporary? It's credited as "trad" over there. |
Subject: RE: Good Site for Folk On-line From: Richard Bridge Date: 14 Mar 07 - 04:45 PM Nothing on FolkAlley plays for me. Do I need some bloatware like RealPlayer to use teh site? |
