Jim Hancock has sadly decided to stop producing the paper version of Folktalk (the Linconshire area free quarterley folk diary) due to increased costs. It will still be available at http://www.folktalk.co.uk
Jim has done a great job for many years and we will miss the magazine very much indeed,

I second that Sooz.

However technology moves on, and Jim is at least keeping the website live.

I have to say that most of the things I get to find out about, apart from word of mouth and local advertising, is on the internet.

Then its up to organisers like you & I to get the info out to our club users.

I have started to do a printout of upcoming events that can be taken away by visitors to Faldingworth Live. Did it for the first time last week, even before I knew about Jim's decision. Saves having to announce them.

I always get my info in the local newspapers and posters where I think they will be noticed.

that's a shame it-s a very popular magazine. Cottngham Live will continue to support it in it's new format.

Yep, it's a shame it's disappearing. There are still plenty of people around who struggle to keep their kids clothed and fed, let alone afford luxuries like computers, and it's going to be difficult for them to find out what's going on in the wider world outside their own clubs.

But Jim's done a grand job and deserves all our thanks for all his hard work. As one of the lucky ones who CAN afford a computer, I'll keep a close eye on the web-site.
