I would like to help you, but the YouTube video won't load on my PC.

Can you tell us ANY of the lyrics? If you could, those of us who are Dougie Maclean fans may be able to identify the song without having to run the video.

Thanks.

Or buy his CDs. I'm sure he'd appreciate the income.

Guest from Spain, I've just listened to the YouTube link you posted and if your English is not good, then you've no chance of understanding this song. It is at least 50% Scots dialect and the recording is so poor, I understood very few of the words myself. I will listen again to see if I can get the song title, at least that would be a start. Why do you want to sing Scots dialect songs???

I don't know what Dougie Maclean calls the song, but I know it's adapted from a poem called THE HIGHLAND CROFTER. I have posted the lyrics in this thread: Lyr Req: Highland Crofter (from Dougie Maclean)

From Jim Dixon's lead - here is Dougies verion - best I could do at the moment. Maybe someone deeper in the dialect can help.
