BS: Wish me luck as you .................

On Thursday at approx. 3 pm my wife, Ann and I will climb into the trusty Nissan and head to Dunfermline where we shall be in a caravan in my Step-daughter's back garden until we find a house. I shall be 60 in July and intend to find 5 years worth of job. If I'm an honest man I must say I'm a little daunted at the prospect of uprooting, but..what the heck !!
I'll try and get back on line ASAP but after tomorrow (Wednesday) I'm not so sure. Take care everybody. ATB from fB. AKA CHarlie.

Best of luck with the house hunt and the move!

My parents uprooted and moved to the Highlands of Scotland 18 months ago and haven't looked back, they say it's the best thing they ever did!

Have a safe journey and enjoy!!

Best of luck. I hope you have a great time in your new hometown.

Wear a kilt and dance round to Jimmy Shand records, drinking whisky, eating kippers and shortbread biscuits - keep saying Bonnie Charlie had the right idea.

You might get taken for a local straight away, I feel sure they will accept you all the sooner for making an effort.

Good for you, Charlie, it means you are still young enough at heart and enough of a dreamer. My best wishes for a successful move!

"...Dreams show the way in darkest night
They make a hero of the timid
For dreams obey no law or limit
And be they old or full of youth
Only the dreamers see the truth...

...And dream by dream, with starry eyes
they climb the way to Paradise."

Well now, all your good wishes seem to have worked. We went to look at a 3 bedroom flat near Dunfermline town centre.Considered\it just the place and had our offer accepted almost immediately. After the usual hassles with vans and storage we consider ourselves very lucky. So all being well we'll be in our new home in June and I'll have a job to put the icing on the cake.
Thank you all again for your kindnesses.
ATB from Charlie.

Good luck Charlie, and I'm glad the house hunting part of it went well. I'm sure you will love Scotland, and you couldn't ask for a nicer place than Dunfermline!

That's great Charlie, best wishes in your new home. Just watch out for the wild and woolly Haggis, it's a fierce beastie when roused. If you hear its mating call on a dark night - stay indoors.

I reckon my Scottish great-great-grandparents were frightened by a Haggis and that's why they emigrated to Oz in the 1840s.

Cheers
