Boat Inn Jackfield

For anyone who comes down to the Boat for the Irish session on Thursday nights. The pub is still closed for a refurb and waiting for a new landlord.

The Session is being kindly hosted at the Robin Hood pub near the Jackfield bridge. We are there at the later time of 9pm.

When I hear any more news I will post it on this thread

Still no more news about Boat Inn reopening. We are still in limbo.

Some of us have moved up to the Foresters Arms in Broseley on Thursday evenings from 8pm. Its a temporary measure as there wasnt enough room for all of us at the Robin Hood and the time of 9pm meant a lot of people who travel a distance were unable to attend.

We are all very grateful to the two pubs for helping us out.

We dont seem to be doing too well re pubs at the min. The Foresters has closed, so most people will try and fit into the Robin Hood.

Still no news of the Boat reopening. Very sad, as the Irish session has had its home there for over 20 years.

There are so many pubs closing or To Let locally.

Tony and I have met Jenny who is taking over The Boat. She is still waiting for all the legal bits to be signed.

In the mean time the pub is looking very sad, with the grass knee high.

What a saga.

FOr those of us who love the place its been very sad to lose our Thursday night comfort zone.

whatch this space

I daresay it makes a change from Knee High River.
Seriously though, I hope it opens as it has been a nice pub.
Quack!

NOt sure, it was rising. We have a WWII event at Jackfield this weekend so are hoping the river wont flood. Have promised to strim the grass so we can use the pub garden as well as the Maws field.

Ah well, so long as it isnt as muddy as Festival at the Edge! We were all feeling like ducks by the end.... quack.. thanks Geoff.

Boat session started again on 23rd. I was at SHrewsbury Folk Festival but I hear it went very well. The place was packed and the landlady provided Irish Stew as a welcome.
