02 Apr 99 - 07:28 PM (#67691) Subject: Lyrics for Balkan song? From: Lucius Looking for lyrics to a tune in 7/8 (3+3+2) timing, all I can remember is "Mooma Moma" (mo-o-ma mo-ma). I know that It is a fairly well known tune in Balkan/international circles, could download a MIDI file if it would help. Oh! and a translation would also be ever so nice. Thanks for your help. |

The problem with the initial request is that "Moma Moma" pops up in Bulgarian songs the way "way! hey" pops up in sea chanteys. From: Matthew Bram Tudora The most beautiful version ever recorded is by thePennywhistlers -- and the album (a cherished favorite of mine for 20 years) includes a printout of the lyrics! By the way, you might have noticed that slavic songs sung by women have suddenly becaome very popular in the background music to TV shows like "Xena" - and even some car commercials (one of which includes "Tudora") Email me if you still can't find the lyrics.
