His Worship & The Pig in Concert

Dave Boulton : (Vocals, Guitar, Acoustic Bass, Bodhran, Shakey Egg, Rubber Glove - don't ask!)
Jeff Parton : (Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Mandola, Banjo, Concertina, Whistle)

His Worship and The Pig is a name which has become more and more prominent on the folk festival and club scene over the past few years. Otherwise known as Dave Boulton and Jeff Parton, this funny and entertaining duo have gained a reputation in the North-West which is gradually spreading across the country.

Their attraction lies in their original songs, in which Dave's pointed and often hilarious lyrics are effectively set off by Jeff's memorable and highly singable tunes. The quality of the songs, combined with Dave's comic presentation and Jeff's multi-instrumental talents, has won them a growing army of enthusiastic fans.

Mike
If there is enough interest by all means lets do it.It basically died a death becuase most people wanted to go home after the concerts.

Would you be able to come up with a group of people who would be willing to stay on and make it a success. In fact you could be the whip cracker.

The bar will probably stay open after the concert for a short while, but it has not been worth keeping it open whilst the singaround is on.

Pump it up Mike for F**k. You will be in charge. Keep me informed.

Don't think so.....not my forte I'm afraid.....organise a firewalk or a bungee jump maybe....even a hike/climb in the Peaks...but singarounds just aint my bag Les...sorry. Get someone with an obvious talent like Sue or Gwenda perhaps.

The problem is Mike if nobody comes forward to get the people who want it, it just doesn't happen.
I think you will find that G&T will want to pack and go when the concert is over.
As for Mrs Sooz, I think you will find that they will probably want to leave after the concert.
The last time I tried to get a singaround after the concert it was a big failure.
However you never know, somebody might come forward and get it going.

Tomorrow it is then.

Sue Dewsbury will be the MC for the evening, and Terry & Gwenda Cater will as usual be the excellent PA wizards.

Roll up, roll up for a cracking nights entertainment. I hope nobody breaks any bones after saying that.

Villan, I watch the ESC deliberately, to remind myself of what a Cornucopia of Fine Music the Lincolnshire folk club scene is. It refreshes my senses and enhances my enjoyment of all that great stuff being sung and played in this wonderful county of ours.

What a fantastic evening yet again. Great songs interspersed with a naturally dry humour and plenty of singalong.......excellent.
Well done Gwed and Ted on PA....Sue the MC.....Les the organiser and HW&TP for the entertainment...

I was enjoying a frightfully awfully good programme on the Television tonight so could not lower myself to be with you. Beautious music of International exquisiteness and aristrocratic competition beyond the bounds of the Television 'norm' 'Le Competition Eurovision de la Chanson'...Top Class, what ho!!

Glad it was a good 'un! The ESC once again did not fail me. The quality of the performers/songs was of an order so low that none would pass the stiff audition for Faldingworth Live. However the comedy factor of the voting saved the day, Mrs. Fenswoman and I rolled around our sofa with tears of laughter streaming down our faces, sides splitting with mirth, at the hysterically-funny 'political' voting. I think the voting part of the show was so strong comedically that, in future, they should just do away with the time-wasting and, frankly, embarrassing 'songs' part, and just let each country vote for its mates (which is what they do now), and rename the show The European 'Who's Johnny No-Mates?' Contest.

Aaaaaahhh, thanks for the PM Sooz! Next time I find something to SCREAM about, I'll give it a try!

And I'm sure HW&TP were excellent, but they're not Mrs. Fenswoman's cup o'tea and I wouldn't make her a folk-widow two nights on the trot!

HW&TP were excellent. Very good songs, funny and bonded with the audience. There were quite a lot of people who had never seen them before, but came up to me afterwards and complimented me on the choice of performers and how much they had enjoyed it.
Thanks to Gwenda & Terry for another excellent PA job and Sue for her MC'ing and Dave and Barabara for the bar, and all you guys that helped G & T to pack up the PA afterwards. Very much appreciated.

Guess I had better go and see Tom Bliss tonight at Grimsby Folk Club.

Backwoodman you are a disgrace lolling around on the sofa to such utterly crap music and humour. :-)
