Remember when they justified concentrating on naugahyde, under the pretext that poor baby naugas feel no pain when they're slaughtered. The unfortunate things were driven nearly to extinction. No, I don't think you could replace either with a synthetic material that would last as long or protect as well. Most of our leather supplies come from the abattoir, so should we just throw it out, or try to make some use of it. |
