This event is to be reborn in 2009. Meanwhile, the Arran Folk Club people are promoting the music, raising funds and making preparations. See:

Wonderful timing - I'm off to Arran at the end of next week and was wondering whether the sessions and things I went to last year are still running

We love Arran great walking, climbing, weather.
And now the Festival is to come back. Great.

For info on what music is on go to the visitors Centre at the pier. Details of session etc.
I remeber there is a session in the Ormadale Hotel Brodick and something in Lamlash Bay.
We (Angie Wright and I) just had a great weekend but spent the time climbing on Cir Mhor. and no time to sing.
Angie had a great time singing in the Ormadale Hotel in the conservatory a few years back thats if its still standing as it looked a bit past its best.

The Ormidale still holds folk sessions on Sunday evenings, 9 pm, right after the fiddle class that my wife Carol attands.
The Catacol Bay Hotel has been quiet in recent years, but there's hope for informal sessions this Summer.

"Attands"? I didn't type that, a Gremlin did.
