Check out this sample of a show we did a while ago based on the songs and life story of Jean Ritchie.

Singin' the Moon Up

Performers: Susie Glaze, Kenny Kosek, Jon Pickow, Peter Pickow.
Written and directed by Steve Rankin.

Enjoy,
Peter

Wow!
Was the whole show recorded? Any plans to sell it? It looks like it must have been very inspiring to work on. The woman - Susie Glaze? - who played the young Jean seems very like her, both in appearance and voice.

Thanks for putting this up, Peter.

I am speechless!! Peter, please tell us the whole story. Is there a video? Is the play being performed anywhere? Can we get a tape through the website?

Thanks, and please give your Mom and Dad my very best regards.

All the best,

Mick

Wow from me too - I was introduced to Jean's songs by my friend Mary Eagle, who now lives in North Carolina, and both she and i would love to know more about about the show, especially if there's a video of the whole thing.

A video of the show would be great. There's also a video available of Mountain Born, a video biography of Jean produced in 1996 by Kentucky Educational TV.

Sorry you thought this was a DVD being offerred- no, this was U.of PA's advert., played on local TV before the opening, and what you saw is all there is with movement, so far. Plans for a DVD may materialize later, but Susie and Steve HAVE made a fine CD which we'll see soon, as she has told you, above. I'm so very pleased with the little show, and we're all hoping and working now to get it "on the road," in cultural centers, small theatres, schools and colleges around the country. If you have any helpful ideas, let Susie know!      Jean
