Well Blackbush did great night at Barnsley Folk Club recently well recieved by all and Dominic Dudill is second generation Barnsley folkie

Isla is a lovely traditional singer and worthy of a guest night and well steeped in her native North East Scotland songs

The Keel is a developing Folk venue

Near the Asda!

And what is wrong with Isla St Clair ?

She spent a good few years doing more remunerative kinds of singing and I guess some people can't forgive her for that.

When I've heard her in traditional stuff she sounded utterly convincing. There aren't many singers I'd rather listen to.

I think Isla St Clair was one of the reasons that Herga Morris enjoyed their appearance on the Generation Game... but she sings trad songs from her roots and really enjoys singing. Was great fun and worked hard when she was booked at the Saffron Walden festival too.

I worked with Isla at St Fagan's Museum when she was presenting The Song And The Story for TV all those years ago. I've also got a very rare LP recorded when Isla was 17 years old - very traditional and absolutely superb!

I have always enjoyed her trad/folk gigs. She is a fine singer who can really work an audience.

Aye Ray, and the canals filled in thesedays - just as well or you might have had to lay on a ferry or supply folk with wellies!
