Updated websites.

Subject: Updated websites.
From: Bert

I just posted a couple of new pictures on my website and got to thinking that it would be a good idea if all Mudcatters post here when they update their websites.

Then we can all get the latest updates on our buddies.

This is actually my gal's moblog site, but I have to pass on pix of people surfing in Montreal.
Yes. Surfing. Montreal. In my opinion, certifiably insane.

I should, Bert! LOL! Some brewery has been advertising to pay for buckets of juniper berries. I don't like gin, is it?

john, love Factotum's pix! Will check out the other folks' links tomorrow. I took a bunch more photos tonight as we had to go up to the transmitter above the valley. We looked down on the huge valley and watch a huge lightning storm all the while. As we drove back down we went through it with dime sized hail, then rain. I am anxious to see if any of the pix turned out.

Wow. Your site is pretty impressive, Southern Celt. What's the story on the brand new Carter Family album? It was great to hear Diamonds in the Rough--and they sure did have the Carter sound.

Also hope to hear you sometime in person. Great stuff.

And it's after midnight, so I didn't even get a chance to hear and see what else you had.

Or for that matter, check out any of the other sites on this thread. Looking forward to doing that. You guys have been really busy.

It would be great if all the mudcat members who have websites or music on the web , could provide a link or address on this thread. Its a great way of hearing and appreciating fellow members efforts. I have foung that being a member of myspace for instance has led to me finding lots of new music which otherwise I would not have ever heard

After many years of being on tripod.com, I finally bought my own domain name and have put up a quick blurb about my book at katlafrance.com. I know I have probably violated some rules about frames, etc., but I needed this up quickly for a book show on the 15th of Sept. then I'll have time to rework it AND will add an audio file of Alba's wonderful rendition of the poem I wrote which she turned into a song, Waves of Sorrow. More to come!

My site is about folk music rather than a place for hearing it, save for the odd Youtube clip. I naturally hope people who stray there find something of interest but am honest enough to admit that while I put as much time and effort into making it readable - and, yes, trying to drum up a little awareness of its existence - there are limits.

I can see areas of the site that need fine tuning, but time can be a real problem when I'm also trying to earn a living as a freelance journalist.

But if any kindred spirit wants to exchange links, I'd be delighted to know......

Also the power of Mudcat is impressive. A posting at my site about the Vin Garbutt/Cambridge Folk Festival debate drew a couple of replies there – and, after a mention on Mudcat, 149 here.

Early, we also have a thread called Folk Musician and Songwriter Links whose purpose is to put links to musician and songwriter homepages in one easily found place so that the DT and Mudcat are freed up for less accessible lyrics. I'll keep an eye on this thread and add appropriate links to the other one.
