BS: My wife..........

From: Georgiansilver

My wife and I got on better when we started sleeping in separate beds ………. Hers is in Australia and mine in England!
My wife always tells me when she has really enjoyed lovemaking …… in fact she just phoned me from Hong Kong!
My wife has skin like satin ……… like a chair that's been satin!
My wife's teeth are like stars …. they come out at night!
My wife looks like a million dollars ……… all green and crinkly!
My wife's eyes are like pools ……. cess pools!
My wife is the cave woman type …… hairy and ugly!
My wife is hot in bed every night …… just wish it was my bed!
My wife has everything a man could want ….. hairy legs, hairy chest, moustache…….

"And what is your wife/relationship like?"

Well, her name is Barbara, not Mary, but the following song pretty well sums it up:

My wife is not only my love, but my best friend, and like Don, I'd find it hard to find a better song to exemplify how I feel about her....and what's more, unlike The Corries, she can SING that song with the right tune and rhythm...*grin*

My wife is smarter than me, has a command of art, literature and language and has incredible empathy and insight.

And with all that, she respects and trusts ME......so I guess she is slightly fallible, after all.

There was a service in Durham, North Carolina, for a while, called Wives for Women. They would do all the stuff that working people (of any gender, really) have no time for. They had a brilliant ad - "Call this number. Leave mess." I always had the vision of the junk all over my living room kind of pouring through the telephone onto THEIR living room floor! But I never lived in Durham, so I couldn't take advantage of them (**sniff**) - not that I would take advantage of a wife if I had one, of course!

Anyone who knows me around here is well aware that Karen is the finest and greatest thing to ever happen in my life. Bill phrased it as I often do......She's my best friend, my buddy, my pal, my lover.....She is strong, intelligent, empathic, and everyone who knows her thinks she's great as well. Most of them also wonder what the hell she's doing with me!

I was 36 when I met her and had long since quit thinking of marriage or any long term relationship and yet within 20 minutes I knew I would marry her if she'd have me. James Dickey once wrote about one of his characters meeting his wife and it was almost exactly what it was like for me. I saw somewhere deep in Karen a flame, small but intense and I knew immediately it was that flame I had always wanted to see and never had. When I saw it, I married it. I don't know what that is, but I still see it now, brighter and more intense than ever these 22 years later.

I would wish the same for all of you.

Spaw

Having begun this thread with a few supposed comedy quips about "The Wife" I expected as usual that it would degenerate into something of a non-pleasure zone...a jokey have a go at women...however, I have to say that some of the posts to the thread are really inspiring and to some degree they restore ones belief in relationships. Having had a pretty bad time with women myself...nothing against then in general you understand...but let down a few times quite harshly...I have tended to think that male/female relationships are a no-go area for me. I'm just glad that you folks have found happiness with your partners and admit to being a little envious.
Best wishes, Mike.

Think of it a bit like your relationship with wood, Mike.

There are all sorts of wood. one day you might find a piece of wood ....like a guitar or a piece of chippendale, a thing of beauty which evokes some deep response in you.

you might not, you might get fed up with it in a bit.......its external to you. whatever you think - you won't take it with you.

Don't expect too much from yourself. Your head has got the same geography inside as all these people claiming deep fulfilling experiences. the are no more valid than your own experiences. theres nothing wrong with you because your bit of wood turned out different.

One of the greatest things about my wife is that she helps me become the man I was created to be. Like Spaw, I knew that I had finally found my soulmate the first weekend we went out together (and we went to visit the sick, not to a fancy nighclub.) Within three days, I knew that I was going to marry her. The beautiful thing is that I knew right away that I would grow to love her more, for the rest of my life. It brought back the lyrics to a popular song of the 50's by a German singer (those Germans are so romantic!)

"How much do I love you? that's easy to say
Less than tomorrow, more than yesterday"

I also love how warm and welcoming she is to everyone who enters our door. Those Catters who have visited us know what I'm talking about.

Jerry

After 61 years of a happy marriage I only have this to say.I love this beautiful lady my wife, my lover,my soul mate companion my right and left arm as much today as i did 61 years ago,and all through the years I always managed to tell her how much I loved her,and she also confirmed her love for me.If every man could experience this same kind of love there would be very few divorces. We never went to bed at night in anger with each other all our differents were resolved before bedtime and we started the next day with with respect for each other

Hell, we've been going for 28 years and we are the best of friends and the closest of admirers, confidantes and more in love now than we were when we started.

It gives me a secret thrill to think that I have done one thing so extraordinarily right in life.

As Billie Holiday put it in I Love My Man (billie's Blues)

I ain't good looking
And my hair ain't curls
I ain't good looking
And my hair ain't curls

But my mother she give me something
It's going to carry me through this world
Some man like me 'cuz I'm happy
Some 'cuz I'm snappy
Some call me honey
Others think I've got money
Some say Billie
Baby you're built for speed
Now if you put that altogether
Makes me everything a good man needs

Now that is weird! A thread which started out as a tongue-in-cheek, having-a-go-at-women topic which turned, surprisingly quickly into a nice thread about women (well, mostly nice), and we (that's me included, I suppose) get accused of being "homo's". An illogical logic.

It has been my great good fortune to love, and be loved by, two wonderful women who became my wives. It has been my great misfortune to lose them both to a bastard of a disease. I am now planning a future marriage with a wonderful woman with whom I expect to have an even greater love.

To love and be loved like this once is a blessing. Three times is beyond belief.

A woman gets into a taxi to go home from shopping. The driver asks what she is carrying in the paper bag.

"I got a bottle of wine for my husband", she replies.
