I'm critical of Broadstairs Festival for I can't understand how they have all those musicians there all week with nowhere to go before the hours of 12:30 and after 14:30. Sidmouth sessions start at 09:00 and go on to 03:00 the next day every day - and don't tel me that it happens at the school as what do you do if you ain't got a season ticket. No decent bus service from the campsite to town either - Sidmouth run one every 15 minutes until 02:45 am every day. Need I say more |

Also, I felt very slighted in the sinaground in the Yacht Club this year when it seemed to me that a certain big name implied that I ought to have opened the door for him (when to do so would have meant reaching across him and effectively preventing his egress). I have had to leave Broadstairs early this year owing to excess work, but it seems to me even less folkie this year so far. |

Field, Fire, Friends, Frigid water, Fart-huts, and of course the Fabric retreat in case of rain which happily stayed away. But the Farmer had apparently read this thread and locked his girls up three fields away, so no sheep! No Fights (although we did hear a bit of nagging going on) Fantastic camp-fire cuisine by Pete Some great music round the fire, some roaring harmony moments (or was that the beer talking?), a HUGE amount of alcohol consumed by many. My sleep habits are not good (and stress doesn't help) and I got the best night's sleep I've had for over a year. Just a great unwinder... |

However, Isabella performed the ceremony with great style and it went off into the wild blue yonder with a little note attached. 11 Sep 07 - 05:00 PM (#2146719) Subject: RE: Knockholt Autumn Leaves Mini-Festival From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie As promised:- Ingredients 1 medium onion 2 fresh birdeye chillies (or ordinary chillies if birdeye aren't available) 6 cloves of garlic 2 tins chopped tomatoes 1 sweet pepper (any colour) Dried Tarragon Dried mixed herbs Tomato puree Garlic puree Dark Soy Sauce (instead of salt) Sugar Olive oil Method Finely chop the Sweet pepper, onion, chillies and garlic. If you have a food processor then put these in with about half a tin of the chopped tomatoes and blend for about 15 seconds. Then add a desert spoon of dried tarragon, and a teaspoon of mixed herbs. Add the rest of the first tin of tomatoes and blend for another 15 seconds. Place in a microwave safe bowl and zap for 10 minutes. Take out of microwave and add 2 x 6 inch worms of tomato puree and the same of garlic puree. Add a teaspoon of Dark Soy Sauce, a teaspoon of sugar and a desert spoon of Olive Oil and finally the other tin of chopped tomatoes (you can of course use ordinary tinned tomatoes and chop them yourself). Zap for another 10minutes in the microwave and allow to rest for about 5 minutes. Taste – and add whatever you need from the above ingredients if needed – and finally enjoy. The resulting 'Arrabiatta' should suffice for 4 servings if you add cooked bacon, mushrooms or whatever takes your fancy. The pasta I'll leave up to you John Barden |
