31 Aug 07 - 11:33 AM (#2137732) Subject: RE: Chords: Blues from an Airplane(Jefferson Airplane) From: M.Ted I haven't got time now to plot it all out, but it starts out on A minor and bouncing to a C--then goes up to D and back to C, descending on the low C note to A--the "fanfare"(also feels a bit like the Smoke on the Water vamp) is A to C to D to C to D etc...the "Come, Make me happy" starts C to Em to C to D and bounces on the fanfare-- Key thing to remember is not to let all the rolling bass and twangy guitar bits fool you into thinking it is more complex than it is--basically, anything fancy is either the Bojangles/Friend of the Devil C chord descending notewise, or the A-C-D-C-D business-- Sorry I didn't have time to lay it all out, but you ought to be able to patch it together from this--it only sounds complicated-- Thanks for reminding me of this great song--and a great and mostly forgotten album-- |
