Bromyard Folk Festival Ceilidhs.

This year there are 4 excellent ceilidhs during the weekend available when you buy a full weekend festival ticket. There will also be a new larger, squarer marquee with excellent flat floor.

For the Saturday Ceilidh with top band Whapweasel and caller Dave Hunt separate tickets will be available for just this dance. You can book tickets costing £12 by calling 07831890905.

Festival or whole day tickets are available from the Festival website - www.bromyard-folk-festival.org.uk/).

The full list of Bromyard ceilidhs is

Friday, September 14, 2007 Peeping Tom, caller      Pete Rees - 20:00
Saturday, September 15, 2007 Malthouse Passage, 14:00
Saturday, September 15, 2007 Whapweasel, caller Dave Hunt - 20:00
Sunday, September 16, 2007 Hekety, caller Martyn Harvey - 14:00 to 1730

There's lots more than ceilidhs. The provisional programme's up on the Bromyard FF website.

What the good festival committee are trying this year is a separate Saturday night ceilidh ticket. So keen dancers who only want to come to the festival for the dance can book a ticket just for Whapweasel on Saturday night.

If it's popular maybe this could be extended to a dances only festival ticket.

I,ve just got the 14 day weather forecast for Bromyard and it's looking very good so I'm packing Factor 25 and not bothering to take my my waterproofs.
Optimistic or what!

pack your earplugs. There is no way you can influence the volume, and it is impossible to avoid progressing to 2 ft from the speakers. Thankfully, I seem to remember speakers halfway down the tent some years, but the tent this year is in a new location so all bets are off as to configuration.

I have to say I am a cautious convert to Whapweasel since the addition of Simon Care and Saul Rose, albeit qualified with earplugs. Being Bromyard we might see both of them in the line-up.

I'm definitely going. I need a good dance!

Will tickets be available on the gate as usual? Looking at the website it seems impossible to order them in advance without paying a fee to an agency. I don't mind givbing my hard earned dosh to the festival, but there are limits!

Haven't heard Simon Care play the box since about 1985 in the York Tap at Sidmouth when we just sat there and jammed for hours.

I was told to ring the number to reserved tickets - see cresby.com the data are cut and paste from e-mails.
Whapweasel are popular so I would recommend ringing and seeing what happens.
