Bedworth 2007

Haven't seen much about this on the threads, and whilst the site is up and running, it still has sections 'to follow'
I would have hoped that this close to the event, that there would be more info on line.

Am pretty sure that Malc will get the website sorted just in time or maybe before *grin*

But, I'd like to take this opportunity of mentioning that Malc has promised that there will be a MudGather at Bedworth again this year. Don't know time or place yet, but Saturday teatime usually works well, so that'd be my guess. Start collecting your chocolate now.....

Giok you're right - i was looking at venues etc for singing and this was all i got... " Bedworth Folk Festival 2007 takes place over the week-end of 23rd - 25th November

Town Centre Map Details will appear here soon " for everything.

Are there singarounds and folk clubs? if so where? and does one need a ticket to attend these?

As I recall there are lots of singarounds in the local pubs, but it's nearly been a year since the last one so my memory is a bit sketchy!! Folk clubs & Concerts are all ticketed events of course. The Mudgather won't be ticketed as far as I know and we do let Catters come to the Gather even if they don't like chocolate - see how tolerant we are *grin*

There are usually programmed (but unticketed) singarounds and sessions in the Arts Centre coffee bar and the main and small bars of the White Swan. Last year the Black Bank also hosted singarounds. Not sure if you need a ticket for the Rugby Club sings

So, who's going then? I'll be there with spouse and 50% of offspring; not in the indoor camping this year, we're taking the caravan at the Rugby Club route. (Indoor campers of a sensitive disposition will doubtless be delighted.) Looking forward to a good one. The website is still incomplete, but the online ticket ordering works fine.

Hi all, just a bit of an update!
Most things are in place now, Rugby Club caravan parking just about full (if anyone has applied by post would be a good idea to drop me an email too with the current postal situation). Venues much the same as last year, but far more stuff in the Civic Hall - 2 concerts friday evening and all day saturday, plus meets and workshops and of course The Craft Fair and the very special PEEPING TOM CEILIDH celebrating 35 years of Peeping Tom (Poor old bu__ers!). Acoustic Concert and folk club in The Arts Centre also friday evening and all day saturday (plus of course the ledendary "Voices" concert sat evening) Much more at The Rugby Club, friday (including a late "Big Sing" with Johnny Collins & Jim Mageean) and saturday evening (including a special Isambarde & friends session) and all day sunday (breakfast to teatime!) catering and cheap beer all week-end!
The two official festival pubs are The White Swan and The Old Black Bank (Mudcat meet late satuday afternoon) - all events at the two pubs are free. As the Conservative Club has a long standing booking for a wedding on Saturday we will only be using it on Sunday this year (concerts and the the final folk club session running from Noon to closing time!) Tickets are going fast, guest list and booking information on the web site www.bedworth-festival.info
Please post any other queries here as I'll pop in regularly now, or email me directly at malcg@bedworth-festival.info
Thanks for your time
Malc.

Yes yes yes - The Grunts will be doing two spots on Saturday, one in the "Nostalga" concert to celebrate 30 years of "Bedduths" (afternoon) and one in the evening!
I can't wait either, and it would seem neither can they - so it should be really special!

Hi All,
Plans are now well progressed for the festival - just as well really as its only a month away!

VENUES
Bedworth Civic Hall - Friday evening and all day/evening Saturday, two concerts plus "meet the artiste-type" sessions, Saturday Craft Fair and Peeping Tom Ceilidh
Bedworth Arts Centre - Friday evening and Saturday Concerts, singarounds, Saturday afternoon "An hour without Les Barker" - your chance to perform Less' material, Saturday evening Voices Concert
Rugby Club - Friday Evening Folk Club, Late Night Sing (Johnny Collins & Jim Mageean)Saturday Evening Folk Club, Late Night session with Isambarde & friends, Sunday The Big Breakfast Sing, Songs for Sunday (led by Sara Grey), afternoon Folk Club. Festival goers welcome all week-end
The Old Black Bank - Friday welcome sing 5:30 - 8pm, Saturday & Sunday Lunchtime music sessions, Saturday afternoon 3:00 - 5:30 Mudcat session, Saturday evening music and song session 9:00 - late!, Sunday afternoon Big Sing with Johnny Collins & Jim Mageean. Festival goers welcome all week-end, and ALL EVENTS HERE ARE FREE.
Conservative Club (not available saturday due to a long-time booked wedding) Upstairs - Sunday 12:00 - 5:00 Concert, 7:30 - 10:30 The Final Fling (Concert-based folk club) Back Room available for informal song/music sunday evening. Festival goers welcome all week-end
The White Swan - We regret that this venue for many years one of the festivals main venues has now closed.
This year we have far more concerts than ever before, but they will all be relatively small concerts to ensure we capture the typical Bedworth atmosphere of being "close" to the performers, both physically and in voice!
The full festival running order should be on the website by 12th November

TICKETS
As we expected being the 30th year tickets sales have gone very well, caravan/campervan parking is now full at the Rugby Club, although we have space for about another 10 campervans (sorry no caravans) very kindly offered by Jeff at The Black Bank (the festival will take no responsibility for vehicles parked there and they must be booked in advance as space is very limited (email to reserve a spot!) it will be first come first served, and free! Indoor camping is still available as is tent spece for those brave enough!
Space permitting SATURDAY DAY ONLY tickets will be available exclusively from the web site at £30 (securely bookable via PayPal - you may use a debit or credit card if you don't have a PayPal account) from 12th November FOLLOW THIS LINK, the remaining tickets will be available on the day. Friday or Sunday Only tickets are available now.

OTHER "BITS"
Any more offers for stewarding would as always be welcome Email us through this link.
Please email us or post a message here for any query you have.

Thanks for your time.

Hello hello. Yes please MURU can you get me one with             "The Unicorn Man"    on please. My other one was "Martin from Barton" so I need a new one. Plus I took it to Swindon when Luton were playing earlier in the year. Remember the rainy season. It poured down all through the game and the away supporters do not get a roof. We lost the game 2-1 got soaked and a few days later my badge went all rusty. BOOHOO. Should see you at Barton or if not at Bedworth.

This is where I find out that she has foolishly trusted me to be organised this year. Hopefully the Festival and the Gather will be enough to keep me out of trouble. On the bright side at least I have checked on here this week and not left it till next week.

Thanks too to my right-hand woman Selchie - (RS) who sold all those rafffle tickets and all her willing helpers who helped to fold them up. We raised £82 for the Mudcat which I'll transfer into the Friends of Mudcat holding account asap. Not to mention all those who very kindly brought prizes, brought chocolate & of course JudeL who baked all the MuddyCats which are fast become a MudGather tradition!

Glad the special raffle prize is in safe hands (enjoy it Sue), looking forwards to raffling it again next year hopefully!
