18 Nov 07 - 01:23 PM (#2196860) Subject: Manchester Ballads at Art Gallery From: Mark Dowding If any 'catter is around Manchester on Thursday 6th December an you have a free hour between 1-00 and 2-00 in the afternoon then Chris Harvey and myself are performing a selection of Manchester Ballads in the exhibition celebrating 150 years of the Manchester Arts and Treasures exhibition of 1857. One of the ballads was dedicated to the exhibition which is why we were asked to do this concert. There is a listening post at the gallery where you can hear the ballad and it is also featured on the Gallery website HERE Hopefully see one or two of you there Cheers Mark |

Apparently 12,000 watched the Sex Pistols even though only 312 were present on the night. I am sure today's performance by Mark and Chris will join, and in the end over-shadow, the other two. I believe the Art Gallery is already organising tours to show where Mark and Chris sat on the afternoon of the 5th! Thanks a lot it was excellent! |

Good to see a few 'catters there as well as one or two other familiar faces. We had about 40/50 people sat or stood round listening to the Ballads for an hour in the Arts and Treasures exhibition.
