21 Nov 07 - 10:17 AM (#2199206) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: The DeanMeister Why would it be better? Never saw the attraction myself! Does that mean anyone can turn up and sing atrociously? ;O) |
21 Nov 07 - 12:51 PM (#2199319) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: Les from Hull Only if they've written about 500 good songs, Pete. (Actually, I like the singing. It's the harmonica 'playing' that I can't stand.) |

22 Nov 07 - 11:38 AM (#2199946) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: Sir Roger de Beverley Or, again, maybe we should all sing the same Dylan song and see what variants there are. After all there was a whole album of versions of "Tom's diner" (Suzanne Vega not Dylan) R |

Fraternal greetings to The Sun in Beverley! |
23 Nov 07 - 09:01 AM (#2200649) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: GUEST,ET Interesting how much interest there is in Dylan. He was my childhood hero and if I ever came to sing in public (unlikely) its his songs i'd sing. His voice maybe not that good (my better half thinks he sings like a constipated cat) but since my singing is worse I don't mind his voice. On a sentimental note I remember going to Retford (Notts) folk club in the 60's. The folk club was above a motor bike garage and one night they had a Dylan night, which co-existed with an intense tuning and revving up of high powered bikes below - an interesting combination - desolation row in real life. |
24 Nov 07 - 04:30 AM (#2201163) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: Les in Chorlton I suppose if you had the time to listen to everything he recorded he will have written a song that is effectively about each one of us? |
25 Nov 07 - 11:42 AM (#2201822) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: Carol He seems to have recorded like a Rolling Stone many times but I was surprised to see he's recorded Hard Times by Stephen Foster! |
25 Nov 07 - 11:52 AM (#2201826) Subject: RE: Dylan Night Sun Beverley 11 December From: Les in Chorlton It has been claimed that whilst touring on the 60s, as well as picking up folk songs he also picked up some Morris tunes. The "faithful" have been listening to his records to "spot the Morris". Any ideas? |
