I'm on the committee of Tredegar House International Festival in Newport, Gwent - Newport Council and Capital Region Tourism have cut our grants by £2,000. As if the committee didn't have enough to do, our valuable time is taken selling raffle tickets to make up the loss. I'll sign! |

We were at the very first festival and have watched it grow; it's always been a great occasion, superbly organised and stewarded. I know for a fact it brings business to the area - my mum-in-law's B&B just up the hill always has festival guests or visitors booked in, and God knows I've put some money behind the bar.
