Herga's (UK) Christmas party

What a cracking evening! With Moses & The Ref, Johnny Collins, Mike Sparks, Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham, HergaKitty Vernon, George (Dragonzorg) Clark, Chris Flegg, plus an augmented set of usual suspects and a surprise visit from Jacqui Morse, how could we go wrong? Peter and Jan's duet cracked us up and Fleggy finished at just the right tone with his "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire".

Herga Mummers on Boxing Day, appearing at:

Case is Altered, High Road, Eastcote - 12.15pm
Queens Head, High Street, Pinner - 12.45pm
Castle, West Street, Harrow-on-the-Hill - 1.45pm
Harrow town centre - ? probably around 3pm

Have a good Christmas everybody!

Well it must have been good, Jacqui crawled in at some unearthly hour this morning - but she didn't manage to wake anyone!

Super evening, and lovely to see and hear Jacqui again (plus she presented me with a gorgeous shawl!! I'm chuffed to pieces - and know now why she slipped favourite colours into a conversation months ago - bless her!).
Come along to the Mummers if you're in the area, it's always chaotic fun.

I got there late - it took a while to drive round from East London and I got lost a couple of times (note to self - get a GPS for the UK!!!!).

I got such a welcome when I got there that the journey was worth it just for that. It was good to see George and Nessie acain as well as Moses and The Ref and Herga Kitty.

The music was wonderful and the last song that Fleggy sang was terrific. Is it available on CD?

Herga is now one of the places that I will make a real effort to get to on my UK visits.

Thanks Jacqui - that's a great accolade! We wouldn't even mind if you brought Kendall (and a few friends) with you.....

Kitty

PS I think Keith K and SylviaN probably now hold the Herga record for number of winning raffle tickets pulled out in one session. Was anyone keeping a proper score?

Yes, a great evening, sorry we left the Christmas cards at home.

I tried to get Liz The Squeak and Micca to come along but, unfortunately, Liz wasn't feeling totally well and Micca was in the throes of moving.

Hi to everyone at Herga - Keith and I had a great time at the party - what a lot of talent the club has.

Sylvia

p.s. We bought 5 raffle ticket strips and we would have taken 5 raffle prizes home with us had we not kept putting them back.

Hi Jacqui.c
the last song was A song of peace; not yet released but soon will be on the new CD just being mixed and mastered; the song has been recorded with Keith Kendrick backing on Anglo and English concertinas; if you want an MP3 of the song just email to chris@chris-flegg.demon.co.uk

Blimey Jacqui, you got a move on with that shawl. I think we will have to call you twinklefingers :-)

Anyway a very merry christmas and a really good New Year to all you southerners from sunny Lincolnshire.

Fleggy - Thanks - I'll take you up on that when I get home at the weekend.

Les - that was another shawl - I finally got to do more with the red one I was making once Lewis's half brother came to stay and Nanny suddenly became redundant. Then I ran out of yarn so finishing it will have to wait until I get back home...........
