The next Sunday session at the Dog and Bone, John St., Off Monks Rd, Lincoln is this Sunday from 3pm till you've had enough!

All styles welcome - last time we had around a dozen musicians playing Irish trad, American old time, English folk -you name it! Singers as welcome as instrumentalists - a very warm welcome to all - together with real ales and real fires!
hope to see you there
Email me on amerginog@aol.com for directions, etc.

Yes - how often does the session take place? My daughter's just got herself a boyfriend in Lincoln - it would give me something to do while they make cow eyes at each other.

Hi Ruth - you'd be very welcome - it's the first Sunday of each month - and a great friendly little pub , too, run by a lovely couple. Do you know it at all? Easy to find if you're in Lincoln, I should think.
Come and say hello on Sunday if you make it this time - I'll be the goatee playing the whistle!

I'm in Grantham, Daithi, so don't know Lincoln pubs very well. I don't think I'll be able to get there this week, but will definitely put it on the calendar for future months.

No problem Ruth - in any event the pub's quite central, with parking ouitside, or near abouts usually ok.

You could check out the post code on Google for a map, or RAC Routefinder for directions.Or email me (see original post) and I'll send you directions etc.

Look forward to meeting you, if and when, then!
Best wishes

Heheh..when I was at school I was taught that the spelling of Irish was designed to disguise its pronunciation, and so it proved!

Of course English spelling is also just as easy
According to GB Shaw, you can spell Fish "GHOTI" - GH = F, as in rough, O=I as in Women, and TI = sh, as in station...

Dáithí = "Dah-hee" (emphasis on first syllable)is near enough - the accent over the vowels makes them long, and the "th" is just an aspirate ("h").

Good luck - look forward to seeing you then, then.
