A few years ago in Nova Scotia a fast food outlet was sued by someone who fell through the roof during a break-in attempt. The court awarded to the plaintiff, so you never know............ I suppose a suit is just another gamble that has its winners and losers. |

After smoking them he sued the insurance company for the money - and won. Shortly thereafter he was sentenced to prison for malicious arson. |

In an ideologically related lawsuit, a couple of years ago, a teenager was drunk and riding on the hood (or roof) of a moving car; the car went near the police station. The teen fell and suffered a severe head injury, and his parents sued the police for not stopping him from doing something stupid and dangerous. The same depressing story, of people who do not accept responsibility for their own mistakes, AND of people who think any mishap may be their chance to become rich. |
