05 Apr 08 - 07:40 AM (#2307280) Subject: Pontardawe singers night From: GUEST,ifor There were around 25 people who turned out for our singers night in the Valley Folk Club in Pontardawe last night. What a good night we had with some fine singing and playing by a load of enthusiastic and talented local musicians including Andrew and Carole on concertina and vocals .Really enjoyed their songs including two penned by Andrew ,"Elephants Teeth" and "Cuba." Lynford Jones sang several fine songs including "Canadian Whisky" by Tom Russell . Lazarus Carpenter on his first visit to the Ivy Bush was a real treat and Bob Thomas and Liam Keely both performed on acoustic guitar and Banjo respectively. HuW Pudner and Chris Hasting sang three self penned songs, Skewen Main 1925 , Dylan and Caitlin and Galway Kate and the MC for the evening Heather Pudner sang Dundee Lassie and I Wish All The Wars Were Over. A good night! |
