I had one on cassette tape but was having dificulty understanding how to play some of the ornamentation, such as rolls etc. I figure it might be easier to learn how to do it if I could actually see what the player is doing. Alternatively maybe one of our good Mudcat people could explain how to finger some of these tricky arrangements. |

There are plenty of whistlers here...... feel free to ask away and we'll try to help. slainte alison |

You see I don't read music at all, I play everything by ear. I know there is some really good advice on the site, I guess its just me I just need to see how to play the ornamentation before actually trying it. Are you the Alison from Belfast? A long time ago I posted a message trying to find out if anyone new the words to The old Woman from Belfast and you (if you are the that person) were keen to know the song. I think way back then when someone kindly posted the words I neglected to post the tune. If you are the same Alison then the tune is the same as the Juice of the Barley. I know it was a long time ago but I have three young boys and my life is not my own any more. |

Can you only use NTSC format? Helen, in Oz |

You could try Chiff and Fipple they have most things to do with whistles.. maybe could point you in the direction of a video. slainte alison |
