I am for a start. I will be leading a workshop entitled "First Steps in Storytelling." Of course, I don't know if anyone will actually come to it. I will have some colouring sheets and crayons with me as well so that any young children can have some fun with a hands-on activity. Obviously I hope there will be some adults and older children there too. This will be on the Saturday. Don't know exact time yet.

Diane

It's always nice to assume most of us don't have a clue what you are writing about and to provide more information. I was unable to find much except this: July Folk weekend based at the Botanic Centre, Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough.

Dates and featured acts might be of interest.

Thanks,

kat

There is a small festival at Natures World in Acklam, Cleveland over the weekend of July 11, 12 & 13. A mixture of concert/hiring fair, singarounds, music sessions, craft fair and workshops as well as a chance to look around the Botanic Centre.

Details of guests are in the current edition of Folk Roundabout. Sorry but I don't have it with me. I believe it is the Saturday and Sunday only, from lunchtime to teatime. There will be concerts, a singaround and workshops. It is a free event. No hiring fair that I know of.

Correct, it is as Northerner states, although the exact timespan of the event is still not completely firmed up it is likely to be 1230 or 1300-1800 both days. Headliner will be Johnny Collins, making an appearance mid-afternoon on the Sunday (tbc), but others appearing (though not all confirmed as yet) include the mighty Young 'uns and Jim Bainbridge, and some of the names are indeed listed in the ad in the current edition of Folk Roundabout (This is a true value-for-money publication giving all the club etc listings for the north-east (UK) along with loads of reviews and other information.) The mag's editor is the organiser of the Nature's World Festival, in fact, and it's a popular and accessible little event now in its 16th year!
Perhaps the thread should be renamed Nature's World Festival, Acklam, Middlesbrough (UK) - July 2008 ?

Thanks, I've changed the thread title as suggested. I hope no one minds.

Please do keep in mind this is an international forum. When I saw "Cleveland" I thought I'd got it wrong and we might be back in the US!**bg**
