I hope you know who the "surprise" is Duncan!

Sorry I shan't be there but have a good one. Hope the voice is back in fine fettle and that the pot lady is making good progress. :-)

"Well where'd you learn to sing that way? Where'd you hear the songs you play? And all the words I hear you say?"

Looking forward to tonight when, as Breezy hinted, Steve and I (aka Moses and the Ref) will lend our support to you, Dunc. (You can rest assured it will be nicely warmed up and freshly laundered) :o)

Tarnation! Missed the first outing of the new duo.

(When I say "outing" I mean, well, outing!).

Thanks to all at the venue - grand audience there - all singing lustily throughout - well done!
Well done Gerry McN for stepping in as my foil.
Anne couldn't do this one - on fiddle - so having the G-man there
on bull-fiddle was great! Didn't he do well - on no real rehearsal time too!
To play the whole set more or less off the cuff was some achievement!
Grand night it was! Cheers - Duncan

Sorry Breezy - some ninety-five bookings from 2001 onward
preceded the 2004 gig you booked me for in St Albans.

Good to see you can still attempt humour, my friend.
You need a bit more practice though, I feel! ;0)

Yup, the hair got shorn short a few years back now.
Is it really that long since you took time to check me out? - tsk, tsk! ;0)

I'd love to play Hitchin, though!
Tell you what,
you set it up
and by your criteria, you can claim to be first to book me since I had m' haircut! - Hah! ;0)

Hope to buy you a beer somewhere e'er long, Breezy - cheers, Duncan

no chance, dont need it.

Hitchin is out of my league too ! I realized that when I started booking certain acts.

Still, I was always willing to be encourage new faces who were ready to face up to their musical limitations, like myself

It was indeed a jolly evening. Thanks Duncan.

We had a lovely kip courtesy of our lovely hosts, followed by an equally lovely brekky and a reasonably lovely drive home.

Nice to see some familiar faces (Hamish, Jan, Moses and the Ref, Byron and Jensine) and some not so familiar ones too.

Come on BBP, that's two gigs I've done with Dunx and you aint been there. Something you're not telling us?

Gerry :-)

Well Gerry, I DID make the Owl at Rodley earlier this year.

And, in my defence, I didn't know that you were Dunx "surprise". It's a pity that work gets in the way and stops me travelling too far mid-week.

Maybe next time!.

BBP, no probs. You're excused so long as you turn up to the next one (July 18th, Otley Courthouse, DMcF acoustic band, avec bass)

I heard it was under-rehearsed and you're still using 'crib-notes'

A joke right?

if yes, then ha ha

if not then one should never believe what one hears.

oh and btw, my lovely friends who provided us with much appreciated B&B and who are Redbourn stalwarts said they had never heard such audience participation. That'll ding-dang-do for me!

Gerry :-)
