Clues; First line: "The boys of the Kingdom'll be remembered forever..." Players named in later verses were Sheehy, Con Brosnan and Keohane. Song written by (a guess at the spelling - can't read my own writing) Sean O'Shochain (???) Sung to the tune of 'Rose of Tralee'. (for a friend - honest!) I think Kerry drew with Roscommon in the 1946 football final and won the replay - and I don't think Tipperary ever got near a football All-Ireland since Cuchulainn was a lad! Regards p.s. Tipp footballers have been in the Munster final fairly recently and I think may have got there back then as well. I'll consult some learned friends on the matter and come back if I find out anything. |
