Yes, it's this weekend, it's actually called Durham Traditional Music Weekend ran by Fred Brierley. It's a small, 'intimate' festival! PM me for further details.

Going to Dent this weekend but would have been very interested had we known about it earlier. We snatch any excuse to visit "God's own country" because we all love the area so much.

Is there any chance that next year details could be posted a lot earlier (say in Feb or March?) please?

Hi Marilyn
The festival's been going for a few years now and is always the last full weekend in June- however yes I'll try to remember to post next year's dates earlier in 2009

Good Luck Fred - sorry I'll not be there (and I presume that Gilroy and Patchett won't be there either)

Sorry, I'll miss it - this is one that I've wanted to go to for a few years now.

However, I'll be moving house..........YEAH!

Hope to catch up with you again soon Carol.

Deirdre

I have one at home - I'll try and get it posted here tonight.

I can tell you, though, that the very funny George Welsh/Stuart Hardy, and the fab Ian McKone are in the Saturday night concert...

...most of the weekend, it's the singarounds that seem to be the most popular. These are held at the Community Centre.

Graeme,
Brother Crow.

Did anyone go, are there any reports?
I did a couple of years hard labour for Crown Prince Freddie and his festivals way back in my younger days and I'm seriously interested how things have progressed under his stewardship.

Yes, I stayed in the singarounds and enjoyed my weekend, plus meeting up with some friends I don't see very often. I was told that the Saturday evening concert was great, George Welch + Stewart Hardy (I think) were great, very funny and the Ceilieh (?spelling) on the Sunday evening seemed well attended.

We went on Saturday afternoon...

The singarounds were well attended, and as usual, Fred did a stirling job organising this small friendly festival...

...though modesty prohibits us from mentioning who won both the "Tommy Armstrong Song Writing" trophey and the "James Hill Tune Writing Trophy"...

;-)

Graeme and Andy,
Brother Crow.
