Marc Feingold asked if these were available on CD. I checked CDNow and they do not have them listed.

The albums are:

Loudon Wainwright III School Days Hospital Lady Ode to a Pittsburgh Glad to See You've Got Religion Uptown Black Uncle Remus Four is a Magic Number I Don't Care Central Square Song Movies Are a Mother to Me Bruno's Place

And Album II Me and My Friend the Cat Motel Blues Nice Jewish Girls Be Careful There's a Baby in the House I Know I'm Unhappy Suicide Song Glenville Reel Saw Your Name in the Paper Samson and the Warden Plane, Too Cook That Dinner Dora Old Friend Old Paint Winter Song

Both are currently available as used LP's from Rockin' World. I have dealt with them twice and have been quite satisfied.

CDNow does list a CD entitled "A Live One" and it has three songs off the first two albums, School Days, Motel Blues, and Suicide Song.

Big RiB (always been a LWIII fan)

Roger, I know very little about the man or his music, but I was captivated the first time I heard 'Primrose Hill' - a very minor hit here in the last 12 months. To me it has a Paul Simon feel - any more of his gems you care to recommend? Any lyrics to Primrose Hill? I went looking about 6 months ago but had no luck. Would appreciate your feedback.

Regards
John

I think he's wonderful. "The Man Who Couldn't Cry" is probably my favourite.

Careful. LWIII is wonderful, but his first two albums pale in relation to his more developed work. His best album is, in my opinion, Therapy. See him live, you won't regret it.

Thank you to those who responded to this! I'm hot on the trail of finding the original LPs at least...(too bad I sold my turntable last year, eh?)

I caught him on an Austin City Limits airing and I'm here to tell you, he is a strange man. Thats why I like him. I also remember he did a few guest appearances on M*A*S*H episodes and sang with his guitar. We hav'nt heard the last of this great writer.
