In the late 60's I spent an evening listening to him in a lounge in Summerside. I think he sang that PEI song three or four times to fill requests. I bought an lp from him that night that he autographed for me. It has the PEI soing on it. |

My cousin, Gene Hooper, another old time country singer married Hal's wife's sister. Her name is Flo, and they no longer perform due to health and age problems. Hal and Betty recorded for RCA Victor a song the title of which escapes me. It's about finding an old guitar and writing a song about it. |
