31 May 99 - 10:02 PM (#83100) Subject: RE: Catspaw Rag on Rick's show From: Joe Offer Hey, Rick, the "Catspaw Rag" would be a great theme song for your show. Maybe sometime you can have Catspaw himself play it on his marsupial ocarina..... Great show, Rick - nice to hear the Art Thieme recordings, too. I've been typing reports as I listen. The show helps ease the pain. -Joe Offer- |
31 May 99 - 10:11 PM (#83104) Subject: RE: Catspaw Rag on Rick's show From: Don Meixner I enjoyed the show alot. And I got to talk briefly with Rick himself. I am in awe. My kids where right here and they yawned alot and looked their shoes and walked away with their heads shaking. Geoffrey said to Greg " It's OK you know, he is getting older." (I know where they sleep.) But we need to determine the prnounciation of Tiple/Tipple for once and all. The Late Lamented Dave Guard of the Kongston Trio called it a "TeePlay" and so there. He should know and you can't argue successfully with the dead. Don |

01 Jun 99 - 01:13 AM (#83146) Subject: RE: Catspaw Rag on Rick's show From: Rick Fielding Alice, of course you're right. Teeplay is keerect! Now let's work on those folks still saying Bod-ran. Joe, I'm gonna work on that "theme song" thing. Don't know whether Catspaw's going to get any royalties though! Thanks so much folks for listening. rick |
01 Jun 99 - 02:32 AM (#83154) Subject: RE: Catspaw Rag on Rick's show From: catspaw49 And I'm the one who is of course pissed off!!! We arrived home about 7:30 and I tried tuning in to Rick's show.........I couldn't get anywhere, my Real Player kept giving messages about "Net Congestion" and at 9:45 I gave up!!! We're having storms and I'm also out here on the "Dixie Cup and Thread Phone Company" where the least thing screws the pooch. I couldn't log onto Mudcat either and when I woke up just now and thought I'd give it a shot, it took 15 minutes. In any case, I'm sorry Rick as I was looking forward to it and made sure we were home on time to tune in. Thanks again for the "honor" of "Catspaw's Rag" and eventually I hope to hear it! catspaw |

01 Jun 99 - 07:25 PM (#83328) Subject: RE: Catspaw Rag on Rick's show From: Rick Fielding Hi Cara. "Catspaw's Rag" is an instrumental. I played Keith-style banjo, overdubbed frailing banjo and guitar. Paul mills played some ukelele and bass. It will be on my new album "This One's the Dreamer", on Borealis records. |
