Tech: DOS emulator for Linux

I just got an ASUS eee computer, which runs Linux - so far it looks exactly like windows. I would like to get it a DOS emulator, so we can run the programs we use for the DT - askSam and SongWright. There seem to be plenty of these emulators. Anyone have experience with any and recommendations of what to use or to avoid?

I don't have any first hand experience of either of those apps but your first port of call should probably be the LINUX Windows emulator WINE - http://www.winehq.org - its a bit fiddly but can be very effective once you get it up and running.

Hope that helps.

Dosbox for linux is here.

Personaly I would go for VMWares free GSX server but to get a DOS VM running you would need the DOS installation disks.

Good luck

Dave

Just noticed that you can also download VMWare player and there is a pre-built free-Dos appliance that will run on the player.
