06 Oct 08 - 06:20 AM (#2458237) Subject: The Color Purple with Lomax music From: Ruth Archer A new 5-part radio drama of the Color Purple started this morning on Women's Hour on BBC Radio 4. It includes some very nice incidental music (work songs and spirituals from what I heard), at least some of which was collected by Alan Lomax. I have looked for more information on the music on-line, but have so far been unsuccessful. In addition to the music, it is one of the few adaptations which has been allowed since the Spielberg film, and claims to be much truer to the book. It should be available from Listen Again. |
