Also in the market were a brass band from St. Petersburg, an accordeon duo from Minsk, and a didgeridoo (plus the obligatory Perivian pan-pipes). |

There was a session in a riverside pub with snow falling outside. (Irish, of course, for reasons amply illustrated in threads passim on fascists hijacking music). Last weekend this nyckelharpa, Henrik, dropped by to visit his friend Henry the Hoover and go to the nyckelharpa doctor who lives nearby. Oooh, there's always something happening in North London in case you can't get to Trier . . . |

Beautiful. I had never knowingly heard one before. The gig was unamplified in a fairly large tiered venue, but still we could hear the echoey resonance within the body of the nyckelharpa. What a treat indeed. |
