Alcester Winter-Fest, End Feb 09 UK

I haven't seen (or found) a thread on this yet but it looks to be a Fab weekend to help kick off the festival season. I'm pretty sure I'll be singing there, though I haven't been named on the guest list yet. Here's the web-site!

So, who else will be there?

I asked my friend not to have his bus pass birthday celebration over the Sidmouth reunion weekend, so he's having it the weekend after! And we'll miss the June festival because of another bus pass birthday. Hope we can make it to Alcester for both next year!

Kitty

Don't know Roger, things have probably changed a bit since the interest rates have fallen etc!

Nigel & Sally moved on from the Cross Keys some time ago.

As the Greig Centre is at the other end of town from the Keys, and all the camping is at the Greig, I should think you might well be the only folkie there if you visit the Cross Keys over the weekend, Roger.

Shame about the Cross Keys, but as you say Snuffy, most of us will probably be spending most of out time nearer to the Greig Hall! Not long now, am collecting my cheeseboard already *grin*

Gill and I will be there Friday and Sunday (Can't make Saturday as I have a Celidh Band gig) - we'll be in the "sings" on friday and doing a concert spot Sunday afternoon. Hope to see many friends there, it was a great do last year!

I will stick to The Cross Keys in Wallingford, then, and try to make do with a pub near the Tony Greig Hall (it is named after the former England cricket captain, isn't it ??) in Acselter.

Well that was good! Slightly hoarse but eventually sober ... I think we made a reasonable dent in the ale ... nice to see Guru do a main-stage set (cracking it was!) & well done Marj, Dave & others too numerous .. without whom .. etc.
Cya all in June ...

Had a lovely weekend. Weather, singing and company - all superb.

Great set from Hils on Friday and from Les on Saturday (lots of 'sparkle').

Sorry to have missed His Worship & the Pig but I needed an early night and left just after 4.30pm and so was home in time to be awake when I unpacked:o)

Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it possible.

Looking forward to June

Had a lovely weekend meeting & singing with friends despite my 'dizzy spell' on Saturday night. Nearly back to normal (me, normal?) now apart from neckache & send thanks for concern of friends at Alcester. Well done to Marje & Dave & all the organisers & helpers for a grand, well-run weekend!

Really enjoyed getting to sing on stage 'proper-like' despite being a novice with microphones & monitors & stuff like that! Many thanks for your kind words DD & Christine - cheques in post or would you prefer cheap RBS shares?

Looking forward to the Summerfest where we'll be having a MudGather.....

Great weekend. Sorry I had to miss Saturday afternoon, but it was almost worth it for 6 yellow cards!

Saturday night in the Rotunda was awsome though!
