I have this song on a CD called Dhachaigh by various artists. It is by Melbost Bard and concerns his nephew moving from Melbost to Tong, further round Broad Bay. It really is a beautiful song but my Gaelic is not yet capable of deciphering the words and translating. Can anyone help?

From Wikipedia:
"Murdo Macfarlane (15 Feb 1901 - 1982) (Gaelic: Murchadh MacPhàrlain) known as 'Bàrd Mhealboist' (the Melbost Bard) was a published poet and campaigner for Scottish Gaelic."
WorldCat lists 2 books by him (which, because of a slight spelling inconsistency, appear as 3 books):

An toinneamh dìomhair : na h-orain (1973)

Dain Mhurchaidh (1986)

One of them MIGHT contain the poem you are looking for. Both books appear to be written in Scottish Gaelic. I don't know whether they contain any English. If you get the Gaelic text and post it here, someone (not I) might be able to translate it for you.
