Ah thanks, Meself.
Now that it's done I can finally listen to other folk.
I'll put your album on in the morning and mail
one of my own out to you. I'm way behind with that.

"I'll put your album on in the morning"

Good idea - especially if you want to have the house to yourself!

"and mail
one of my own out to you."

Very kind of you; I look forward to that. Will PM change of address.

"I'm way behind with that."

Hey, you're talking to the master of way behind; any further behind and I'd be ahead - like those long-distance runners you see in the Olympics, the ones who are so far behind they start looking like they're out in front ...

I just don't listen to others when I am recording so I have a huge stack of albums to go through as well as exchanges to complete.
After 4 months of listening to myself, I'm ready for anything.

Well done my friend, nice stuff.

So here's a funny thing. A former member of "The Irish Rovers" has taken
issue with the album title "The Irish Rover" so I've changed it to "The Black Velvet Band".
Ah well! Maybe he has a point. I don't know.

Well, I suppose the lawyers would have a great time hashing that one out ... Good to see that you're taking it philosophically.

Now, I'm sure there's some group of musical miscreants out there called The Black Velvet Band - let's hope they don't get wind of the affair ...

It's a song title fer feck's sake, tell him to get over himself.

"Good to see that you're taking it philosophically."
Not really but I do listen to Brenda. She keeps me sane.

Best of luck with it Jim! I had a quick listen to a couple of songs and I'll hear more later. Sounds great!
I was looking at your album cover and wondering if that was the bouzouki that Lionel built?

It's not the cover but it is the bouzouki.

Thanks Jim,
I just assumed that the picture was the cover.

Jim - I think I just got the name for my next album: The Irish Rover.

Screw 'em!

Jim, congratulations. I cannot listen until the weekend but I will then. If it's anywhere close to your last, it'll be great.

Count me in, Seamus. We are in the studio in April. I think we will call it The Conklin Ceili Band does Jim Brannigan's Irish Rover.

Getting a bit stupid out there, eh lads?

All the best,

Mick

Seamus:
I just spent the whole day listening to your albums and I mean the whole day. All six of them and they are marvelous.
I'll send you some of mine in a couple of days.

Just a wee update. The rover in question just e-mailed to say that he's not offended at all and his quips were all in fun.
I'll take him at his word. (with just a little reservation)
However, the bar code is on and it's The Black Velvet Band.

He seemed sincere enough.
Didn't have to e-mail me at all, when you think about it.
Hunker down, Meself.

The road and the miles to Dundee sent shivers down my spine, which does not happen very often. Bravo Jim lad. Methinks I am in love.
