Alison - I found the song in the BMI Repertoire Database. It was written by Louis McManus, Anthony John David Newton and Jan Wositsky. Searching a bit further, I found all three of them as members of an Australian band called The Bushwackers. I had a look at some of their albums, but couldn't find Dick's Pig. The publishers of the song are JRT MUSIC LLC and their Email address is jrtmusic@earthlink.net Good luck in your search.

Slan go foill. Ciaran

There is a Buswackers Song Book which I bought at a used book sale about a month ago. I will check tonight to see if it is in it.

I've got a recording of it on a "Best of Bushwackers" compilation from itunes (sorry can't remember album name - it's a combination of three albums). We play it in E minor. Cheers.

Fortunately I don`t know the tune: I`d be tempted to play it in revers order (BBAA) and call it the Pig`s ....

Ernest, there
s one in every crowd, isn't there? LOL

(Don't mention goats and goldfish, mountains and fountains either, thanks.)

gillymor, the second post above has the songwriters' details.

Dick's Pig on The Session

Here is our session group member Terry Yardy playing Dick's Pig on mandolin.

Dick's Pig played by
a local Newcastle Oz band called Sligo Maid which I used to go and see a lot in my younger days and didn't even realise they were still around. I don't know what the second tune is.
