21 Apr 09 - 07:36 PM (#2616014) Subject: RE: Herga presents: Bogle's last London gig From: Herga Kitty Breezy - Watford isn't in London, which is why it was in inverted commas in George's original post. But the James Theatre is close to Watford Metropolitan line station, and Watford on 27 June does seem to be the closest that Eric is getting to London on his tour. Kitty PS I thought I'd already posted this but it didn't seem to have landed, so apologies if it appears twice. |
22 Apr 09 - 03:54 AM (#2616153) Subject: RE: Herga presents: Bogle's last London gig From: breezy Of course you are correct Kitty, but dont tell the rest of the country it will lead to much confusion. Now thats twice Ive been in attendance and you have been sorely missed of late i trust you wont be absent for Nathan Rogers on Mon 8th june at Pinner Green Soc Club. Will you be at the Johnny Collins gig on friday at the Pumphouse, only asking, answer not required as I can probably 2nd guess ! While doing me 'thing in the street' yesterday it was surprising how many people I spoke to who didnt know who E B was but knew his two most well known songs, then there were those who knew nothing! have a nice sunny day wherever you are kitty. |

11 May 09 - 09:35 AM (#2628969) Subject: RE: Herga presents: Bogle's last London gig From: VirginiaTam He and John Munro were scheduled to perform at Leigh Festival (Leigh on Sea Essex) on 28 June. I have contacted one of the Leigh organisers who has confirmed that Eric and John had to pull out of the festival. On Eric's website it does show a conflict of performances for that date. So now I need to look at finding out how far Watford is from Chelsford, what the parking is like and if I can still get a couple of tickets. If not, he is due to perform at the Hoy at Anchor club in Leigh on Sea on 14 July. But that is one day before we leave for Scotland. So maybe not doable. Arrghh! |
11 May 09 - 12:18 PM (#2629060) Subject: RE: Herga presents: Bogle's last London gig From: breezy Do you mean Chelmsford? It'll be a whole experience at the Watford gig, the best value I think of probably all his gigs. The support acts are top notch Get there early to enjoy pre concert activities, why not visit St Albans on your route and catch the buskers |
11 May 09 - 06:45 PM (#2629342) Subject: RE: Herga presents: Bogle's last London gig From: Herga Kitty VT - Watford is about 50 miles west of Chelmsford. Transport Direct estimates that it will take a little over an hour to get there on the evening of 27 June, via junction 21A of the M25. The concert venue is actually the theatre of Watford Grammar Boys School, on the A412 Rickmansworth Road. I think parking in the evening should be OK, the challenge will be negotiating the Watford one-way system to get to West Watford... following signs to Rickmansworth should work though! Hope you can make it Kitty |
12 May 09 - 03:08 AM (#2629624) Subject: RE: Herga presents: Bogle's last London gig From: VirginiaTam Thanks Kitty and Breezy I did indeed mean Chelmsford. We often take a route through Watford when going to and from Stratford U Avon to visit my partner's parents. I will talk to partner. He is determined that we do Leigh Festival in the evenings. But I really want to see Eric. The added bonus of Martin Wyndham Reed is icing on the cake. I might already be committed to giving lift to Leigh to a friend as well. Fingers crossed I can work this out. If not then I will make certain to attend Hoy at Anchor performance on 14 July. Tam |
