Hi there,

I am looking for the following Irish films/dramas that have been on TV in the past but do not seem to be available on DVD:-

Rooney - 1958 I think starring John Gregson
The risisng of the moon - 1950s by John Ford
The ballroom of romance - 1982 I think made for TV starring Brenda Fricker
Amongst Women - 1990s made for TV short series RTE

Any information on where I could obtain or borrow these on video or DVD would be very welcome.

Thank you.

The Rising of the Moon is sold in the US for $24.99 here:

Maybe that won't help you. (But now I want it.)

I saw the Ballroom of Romance and recently tried to find a recording too for a friend - the original short story on which it was based is still in print I think

The very first film made by the Irish film industry was in the 1920's. It was called "The Dawn". Actually it wasn't that bad.

The Ballroom of Romance was from a short story by William Trevor.
The same Director/Adapter , Pat O'Connor , also filmed Trevors "One of Ourselves" for TV and "Fools of 'Fortune (latter with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Julie Cristie.

Martin, have you looked in The IMDB? Here they list both film and TV and usually have a link if it is available for sale.
