I think it was called 'Come Back Liza'...

Chorus went something like...

Come Back Liza, come back girl,
Wipe the tear from me eye...

Is that the one you mean?

If it is, it's in the database:

Come Back Liza

I don't know if my memory is playing tricks, but I think Cliff used to sing the refrain as 'Water come a me eye'...?

Jimbo, can you come back and tell us more about the song? It Bernard is right, the song is Come Back, Liza, by Irving Burgie and William Attaway, recorded in the US by Harry Belafonte. I've tentatively linked this thread with the Irving Burgie songs - are we right?

Bernard, I seem to remember that the opening verse went

Every time I'm away from Liza
water come to me eyes(x2)

Refrain
Come back Liza, come back girl,
Wipe the tears from my eye (x2)

Water come on me eye
T'ink about me nice girl Liza
Water come on me eye
