Jacqui talks about it all the time. Do you realize that if you run into a burning building and save two children and a kitten, the headline will read "Elderly WOman Local Hero". LOL Happy Birthday. I have some lovely gifts for you... |

09 Jun 09 - 09:02 PM (#2652793) Subject: RE: BS: BG's Birthday! [Bat Goddess] From: Bat Goddess Spaw, I pulled that one on my boss today. He asked how old I was, I said "Six." He said, "Well, that explains it." Had my B.D. lunch today at Newick's overlooking Great Bay -- only get your ten bucks off on your actual birthday. Had fried calamari & shrimp combo plate. Squid was good, but the shrimp was exquisite -- so easy to overcook fried shrimp, but this was done to perfection. Then, alas, had to go to work -- and today, almost every sale was like pulling teeth. In two cases it was the wife who couldn't understand why her husband wanted to get a very moderately priced (under US$250) pair of glasses despite the fact they'd been having trouble seeing road signs or reading. Arghhh! So, Micca, when will you be in the neighborhood?!? Sins, my KNEES are old -- I'm retro (dammit!) You can be old if you want. Linn |

I said, "Hey...20 is nice...it's fun! I liked it so well, I did it 3 times!" Yes, you may use the line....happy 3rd pass at 20! And many more! |

10 Jun 09 - 02:26 PM (#2653335) Subject: RE: BS: BG's Birthday! [Bat Goddess] From: Bat Goddess Just ducked back home to eat lunch before running other errands. Should have done that BEFORE I went to Flag Hill Winery in Lee (one town over) for my birthday 25% off one item and free wineglass. Tom and I tasted our way through several wines, their port and vodka, as well as a dessert wine and a liqeur. Really loved the Niagara and the Niagara Reserve (aged in oak) from grapes very close to our native grapes. And their vodka has much more personality than the usual American vodkas. I'm looking forward to their brandy when it's available. Linn |

11 Jun 09 - 09:20 PM (#2654497) Subject: RE: BS: BG's Birthday! [Bat Goddess] From: Bat Goddess Thanks everyone! I had a lovely day, a lovely day after, and I intend to keep celebrating (despite having to work on my day off Saturday) for at least a month. Tom's been fixing my favorite meals every chance he can. And tonight I had a customer say he thought I was about his age -- 47 -- instead of the six decade milestone I just passed. (One of the advantages to being fat and having my mother's hair genes -- no wrinkles and very very little gray.) Linn |
