Mudgather in Denmark?

Are there any Mudcatters living, like me, in Denmark? Danes perhaps? Are we enough to organise a Mudgather over here?

I'm not Danish, nor do I live in Denmark, but close enough to get to a Mudgathering. Tonder, perhaps?

I am popping over to Copenhagen to play over two days (16/17 July) at www.kraemmerfestival.dk
(which I believe runs 16th to 19th July)
They have me booked for the 'Irsk Telt'!!! And me a Scot!
This came about because after a successful concert I did at the Musikteater, Baltoppen last November!
Any Mudcatters than can make it to give this lone Catter a bit of
support, will be most welcome - I'd be real pleased to meet you!
Cheers - Duncan McFarlane

what is the difference between Scandinavian and Nordic?

also we have a few Swedish catters, i think.

hey, don't forget Finland!
at Scandinavian music and dance camp last week we studied mostly Norwegian and Swedish music and dance, but there is a certain population of Finnish people who inhabited the northern forest
on the border between Sweden and Norway. they had a certain style of music and dance Called finskog . they had a favorite crop which they planted...some sort of rye i think...which required them to move
frequently to find new fields to plant it in..any one know more?

(sorry for thread drift......................)

Seamus, for someone capable of dropping a cellphone down the loo, you're sailing pretty close to the wind there, methinks!

Come over here, and we'll show you the difference. Bring guitar AND your own cellphone.. :o))

Skarpi and Bente, as someone who this very morning is gaining a Danish daughter-in-law (she's from Fyn), I think I'd better not make any more allegedly humorous remarks like that!

My cellphone won't work in Denmark, so I'll just leave it home to be safe.

My guitar won't fit down the loo....I know, I've tried..

And while we're on the subject: Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, what's the difference?! :>))

Congratulations on your Danish daughter-in-law, we make some 'good models' over here, but I guess your son already sussed that out for himself ;-)

Does this mean there's any *real* chance of you ever wending your way over here??

you can use the "alt" key to type thusly:
(hold down key while typing #'s)
Æ         ALT+0198 (Capital ash)
æ         ALT+0230 (Lowercase ash)
Å         ALT+0197 (Capital A ring)
å         ALT+0229 (Lowercase A ring)
Ä         ALT+0196 (Capital A umlaut)
ä         ALT+0228 (Lowercase A umlaut)
Ø         ALT+0216 (Capital O slash)
ø         ALT+0248 (Lowercase O slash)
Ö         ALT+0214 (Capital O umlaut)
ö         ALT+0246 (Lowercase o umlaut)

you seem to have gotten the "dots" o.k.

John, I gather the Grimsby gathering this year wasn't well attended (mainly because the annual date clashes with too many festivals, I suppose), and you've got one up in Scotland in October. I think the OP's intention was to have a Mudgathering nearer his own place! He seems, however, to have gone into hiding.

Not in hiding, Susanne, just unavailable. Recovering from Roskilde took longer than I thought. However, it seems we are not enough for a meet?

As far as I know, Skagen's always the first weekend of July - same weekend as Roskilde.

Sorry, I won't be at Tønder, I'll be at Højbystævnet the weekend after instead. Excellent venue, if you're interested in playing folk dance music or dancing folk dances. And before that I'm going to Sidmouth, so that's about my travel allowance used up..

Best wishes,

Bente

But I've got my Tonder tickets now, so who else will be there?

A bit late to this, but what the heck. :D

Hello open mike! LTNS!

I still pop my head in here from time to time, when I need some obscure knowledge, and I'd still be interested in a meetup/gather if it should even come to Denmark.
I'm currently pulling strings/organising to host the MusicBrainz 2013 Summit in Copenhagen. Feel free to poke me if you have any interest in that. (It would be great to have more 'Catters on MusicBrainz, using their obscure knowledge to fill in some blanks in the database! :D)
